My Three Sons

As soon as we discovered that William was going to be a boy, people began to make comments about My Three Sons. Little did I know that My Three Sons was a television show that began airing in 1960. However, the label could not be more fitting for my boys. Below are a number of pictures of Matthew, Peter, and William. You will note as you scan through the pictures that My Three Sons look very much alike. Can you guess which picture is which son? Toby says he will buy a margarita at Chabelita's in Vale for the person who gets the most correct! YUM!

My Baby is Growing Up!

A few weeks ago, Matthew celebrated his 9th birthday. Wow - 9 years old! He is quickly maturing into a very handsome young man. Matthew is very compassionate and caring. He is extremely bright, loves to read, build legos, play chess, and hunt! He is also very tolerant of his little brothers and is typically very helpful, especially when it comes to helping is Dad outside! I can't believe my baby is growing up!

Matthew helped move 200 cows 8 miles down the highway last week.
It was a full day of riding the four wheeler. He was in heaven!

 

Feeding the Cows

When the snow starts to fall, and fall, and fall, as it did earlier this winter, it only means one thing around our place - time to start feeding the cows. As you will see below, feeding that many cows is not an easy task. Instead, it is very time consuming and does not come without risks.

Meet Stickers. He is our friendly Longhorn steer.

Uncle Greg found out that slick roads, loaded pickups, and washouts don't mix very well.

Luckily, Uncle Greg was okay. He was a bit shaken up though. I would have been too!

Out of the Mouth of Peter . . .

Those of you who know Peter very well are aware of the fact that he can say the funniest things. I could post a funny "Peter Comment" each day; instead, I will pick the funniest comments to share.

Last week, Peter and Matthew traveled with Uncle Tim to the Cow Camp in Ironside to fix fence. During one of their breaks from fixing fence, Uncle Tim and Peter wandered away from the group to "let their lizards spit." As they were standing there, the following conversation took place:




Peter: (Looking at Uncle Tim) "Well, that isn't very big!"
Uncle Tim: (Looking dumbfounded but continuing his business) "Oh, okay."
Peter: (Shooting pee about 15 feet, looking at Uncle Tim again) "And it doesn't work very well either!"
Uncle Tim: (Silently zips up his pants and walks away!)

Uncle Tim said that he was somewhat embarrassed that his 6 year old nephew informed him that he was not well endowed, but he was not embarrassed enough not to retell the story.
