In mid-May Toby and I were sitting on the porch one evening and he says "I think Daisy (our female border collie) might have puppies in August." I was shocked! This was not a "planned" pregnancy, as we have Daisy and a male black lab (Bo) and Toby thought he kept them separated at the appropriate times. However, Daisy and Bo must have been sneaking around behind our backs because on May 24th (not August!) we had five (three females and two males) border collie/lab puppies. Don't get me wrong, I love puppies. Unfortunately, they do not stay puppies forever, and we do not need five extra dogs to feed. As a result, we are trying to find good homes for our little surprises. Matthew and Peter have stated that they are the best kind of dogs one could have. They not only hunt birds, but they will also help work cattle. The best of both worlds! If anyone is interested in a FREE, cute puppy let me know.
